NEW ENROLMENT SYSTEM IN BELLEVUE - PERPETUAL SYSTEM

To make the enrolment process easier for families, we are moving to a perpetual system at our new pool in Bellevue - Geneva. This means you only need to enrol once, and you are perpetually enrolled until you want to cancel. You do not need to re-enroll every term.

 

We will be open for 47 weeks of the year, and will be closed for 5 weeks of the year (2 weeks Christmas, 2 weeks Easter, and 1 week in August).

We are teaching Monday to Sunday, outside of school hours and offer some day-time lessons as well, depending on demand!

PRICE

New prices from September 2022 per lesson: 

 

Monday to Friday: 40 chf/lesson (reduced by 2chf from current price 42 chf) 

Saturday and Sunday: 45 chf/lesson (increased by 3chf from current price 42 chf)

We offer a siblings' discount on the second (10%), third (20%) and fourth (30%) child of the same family. 

Please be aware that the family discount does NOT show on the family portal but will be automatically deducted once payment has been processed, not before. In the rare event of the siblings' discount not having been automatically added once payment has been processed, please contact us. 

 

Why are we charging more on weekends and less during the week?

  • We pay our teachers a premium rate for working on weekends and

  • to encourage people to come during the week to try and smooth out demand over the 7 days. 

Payment is only with a credit card via our UDIO booking system. We do not accept payment at our facility. 

 

DO YOU OFFER TRIAL LESSON?

We do not offer trial lessons, but you are very welcome to come and see our facilities and see some of our lessons. We are teaching Monday to Sunday, outside of school hours and offer some day-time lessons as well, depending on demand!

HOW DO LESSONS WORK?

Each child comes to one lesson per week. Depending on the child's age and level, the lesson will be either 30, 40, or 50 minutes. We are open for 47 weeks of the year. You can see our calendar on our dedicated page.

 

Your child will be in a lesson based on their age/swimming ability. The child moves to the next level when they are ready.

 

The amount of time that they spend in each level is different from child to child. All children progress in the same sequence but at different speeds. When your child moves up to a new level, this may require a slight time change. 

How do I register? 

Red Whale has a special family portal on which you can register but also follow your child's progression and your child's lessons. Please register your child with the correct date of birth or you will not be able to sign him up for the right class. 

If your child has already swum with Red Whale, he/she has received a level at the end of his/her last term. Please register in the lesson of the last received level. Returning clients can skip step 1 and 2.

Step 1 - establish your child's level, based on our self assessment criteria - please check our Swim programme & Levels page to see in what class your child should swim in.  

Step 2 - Create a family account on our special page

Step 3 - Add your child/children to a lesson on your time and day of preference in the appropriate level

Step 4 - You will receive an email confirmation with all relevant information for the first lesson. 

 

What happens when my child is ready to move to the next level?

  • The deck supervisor or the teacher will inform the parents that their child is ready to move to the next level. 

  • The child will receive an award.

  • An email will be sent to the parents requesting them to choose a class in the next level. We will do our best to offer all levels at all times, so the change of time (if any) should be minimal. If the parent wishes, they are free to choose a different time, or different day. 

 

ONGOING PAYMENT

This works just the same as any monthly subscription. You pay once a month automatically. On the 15th of the month, we debit your credit card for lessons for the following month. For example, on the 15th February, we debit your card for lessons in March. You can see the payment history, at all times, in your account on our website.

Payment is only with a credit card via our UDIO booking system. We do not accept payment at our facility. 

CANCELLATIONS

To cancel, you have to send an email to bellevue@redwhale.ch. You can cancel at any time with 15 days' notice before the start of the month. This means that if you wish to finish your lessons at the end of February, you have to cancel before the 15th January by sending an email.

 

If you wish to cancel mid-month, for eg, you are moving away in the middle of a month, just let us know before the 15th of the previous month, and we will adjust your payment for the following month. for eg. if you wish to finish after 2 lessons in June, let us know by 15th May and you will only pay for 2 lessons in June (and not the entire month).

 

HOLIDAYS

We are  closed for 5 weeks of the year (2 weeks Christmas, 2 weeks Easter, and 1 week in August). There are lessons 47 weeks per year. You do not pay for lessons during the 5 weeks that we are closed. 

 

What happens if you want to go on holidays outside our 5-week closure periods? 

 

Option 1: You can cancel lessons (with the appropriate notice- see above) and you will not pay while you are on holidays. However, this means that you free up your existing spot but can re-enrol whenever you like. The spots in the lessons are not held, so there is no guarantee that the same lesson will be available when you re-enroll.

 

Option 2: Miss the lessons, and stay in the same class. Unfortunately, missed lessons are not reimbursed or credited and we don't offer make-up lessons.

 

ABSENCE DUE TO SICKNESS

Lessons missed, even if justified by a medical certificate, are neither reimbursed, changed or replaced. There are no exceptions.

 

Prolonged absence justified by a medical certificate

In case of an accident, justified by a medical certificate and announced immediately, which cancels your participation to lessons for a prolonged time, we will cancel your subscription and credit the lessons you have already paid. However, your spot will not be held and there is no guarantee that the same lesson will be available when you re-enroll.

 

MOVING CLASSES

Once we have started the lessons, you cannot move classes within the paid month. However, before the 15th of the month, you can email us to bellevue@redwhale.ch and request a change. If we have a free spot in the right level, this will then be possible for the following month.
